The Press
Bridge Lane, Sydney
Located above Bridge Lane in Sydney's CBD, The Press by Merivale is Justin and Bettina Hemmes' latest late-night music bar, set in the former home of a printing press and restaurant Est. Layered with vintage glamour and custom Express Weave carpets by FYBER GROUP, The Press is an example of immersive, atmospheric nightlife design.
The Press, Merivale's new late-night music bar tucked above Bridge Lane in Sydney's CBD, occupies the space once home to a printing press and later the celebrated restaurant Est. Conceived by Justin and Bettina Hemmes and brought to life by Merivale's in-house design team under Nasim Köerting, the venue layers vintage finds with rich timber, velvet upholstery and pressed metal into a moody, atmospheric space built for full immersion.
Custom Express Weave features throughout The Press, from the main floor to the Est Room, the venue's private 1970s-inspired enclave. Each custom Express Weave was designed to shape the mood of its space, considered layers of tone and pattern that create movement and flow throughout the venue.
Working closely with Merivale's design team, Fyber Group developed a bespoke Express Weave construction to match the layered, eclectic atmosphere Köerting set out to create, one where pattern and tone needed to hold their own against Murano glass chandeliers, pink marble and vintage European fabrics.
This kind of collaboration, matching a proven, customisable construction to a distinct creative vision, reflects how Fyber Group works with hospitality clients: durability doesn't come at the expense of atmosphere or character.
